Welcome Home

Every day
That you've been gone
Away from me
Has been too long!

There's been an ache
Within my heart
Ever since
We had to part

But now you're back
And life is new
So welcome home!
I do love you!

  5. So are you going to make any more poems.
I am also a poet but know one knows me like you or Robert Burns.
How can I get people to notice me?

    Many Regards,

  6. Thanks so much Jessica - Yes, I do plan to write more poems, but have just been in a writer's slump I guess. As for getting noticed, you could put your poems in a blog like this one - also, if you're not on Facebook, you could join and post your poems there where people will share them. I'd like to read some - let me know, ok? (catlou9@yahoo.com)

  7. Sure will let you know!!!!
Still working on my first one but how's this so far....
Land of the Free home of the brave
Land of disease home of the slave
Freedom of religion Freedom of speech
Freedom of press and freedom to breach
Freedom to steal freedom to take
Freedom to carry guns and Freedom to break
The laws of the man and the laws of the word
Freedom from peace but to still use the bird.

    Many Regards,

  8. You're a very good poet Jessica - I'm no authority on poetry - seldom read any myself but I know I don't like to have to decipher it and this is very clear, easy to understand and has a nice flow to it as well. Bravo!! :)

  10. Jessica - Would you start corresponding with me at my email address - this space is for comments and we are having a conversation here. :) I am a poet only as a hobby - I have never made money from it. I'm afraid I can't help you become a professional poet - but you do write poetry so you are already one. :)

  29. Just say what's in your heart and put it in verses, 4 lines at a time like mine or 2 lines at a time. It doesn't need to rhyme - just needs to be sincere. You are welcome to tweak mine for your own use too. :)
